Enjoying music and modern home design don't go together? Not true if you know how to do it!

Speakers are a horror for most interior designers. Technical equipment can easily be hidden, but conventional loudspeakers cannot - invisibility and sound transmission are generally considered mutually exclusive. Some of the usual installation solutions for walls and ceilings still remain visible; namely the part where the sound should and must exit. But a bustling company from Lake Constance has consistently taken the topic further and has actually been offering invisible loudspeakers for several years.

THE RIGHT KNOW-HOW

PurSonic GmbH from Überlingen is part of the Puren Group, and through that parent company is very familiar with the requirements of the construction industry and, in particular, with the numerous possible uses of rigid polyurethane foam.

The flat-panel loudspeakers or "soundboards" from purSonic are made from this light and versatile material. They can be processed in a similar way to plasterboard and integrated into practically any wall or ceiling. Only a few centimeters of installation depth are necessary, because behind the soundboard there is an exciter that converts the music signal into vibrations and transfers it to the soundboard.

DESIGN FREEDOM

The wall can then be designed in almost any way you want from the outside with wallpaper, paint or plaster. Intelligent electronics are calibrated on site to the respective conditions and corrects the tonal influences of the material on the soundboard. The result, when music, television sound or announcements can be heard directly from the wall in the finished room, without any visible speakers, is indeed amazing. And the possibilities that arise for planning are immense. Even under the strict requirements of monument protection, you don't have to do without good tone.
