The multiroom specialist BLUESOUND has ignited the next development stage of its technology platform. The devices of the new generation 2i promise better sound, more flexibility and even more fun with your own music collection.
Bluesound has always had the reputation of being the slightly better wireless streaming system for sophisticated sound demands. With the further developed devices of the new generation 2i you confirm and consolidate this reputation again. To this end, the entire platform has been revised on the hardware side and equipped with new software.
All new Bluesound devices now transmit either in 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WLAN, which increases the flexibility in working with modern network routers and offers an even more stable connection. With the update to version 4.2 aptX HD, the practical Bluetooth wireless technology has also been brought up to date. Bluetooth 4.2 aptX HD transmits music data at up to 48 kHz / 24 bit and thus offers real CD quality. All devices on the 2i platform can also work as Bluetooth transmitters and receivers at the same time. This makes it easy to feed music from a smartphone into the system, for example, or connect wireless headphones.
Also new on board is the support for Apple AirPlay 2. This means that devices from other manufacturers that also support AirPlay 2 can be integrated into the multiroom system and controlled via Apple HomeKit and the Siri voice assistant. Apropos "voice assistant": The control of a bluesound multi-room system via Amazon's Alexa is now also possible with the 2i platform.
But the individual devices in the Bluesound family have also been revised in detail. The Powernode 2i now offers a second combined input for digital or analog music signals, the Pulse Soundbar 2i can now be connected to the television via an ARC-capable HDMI input. The wireless loudspeakers Pulse 2i and Pulse Mini 2i have also been equipped with completely new chassis equipment and new amplifiers that promise even better sound quality.
