A Perfect Couple: Highland Park Single Malt & LINN Exakt System Last Friday, March 28th, 2014, we met dear guests at AUDITORIUM Hamm to celebrate two things that make life worth living: good music and fine single malt whiskey! The event had been fully booked for days, but we received inquiries practically every day whether there was 'something else going on'. Some guests even appeared spontaneously in the evening, so that in the end almost 50 visitors romped to the AUDITORIUM.
After the welcome from AUDITORIUM managing director Sebastian Schwarte, there was a first sip for body and soul: whiskey expert Jens Rosenberg briefly introduced the Highland Park distillery and provided some facts about the history and production of single malts. The first glimpse into the taste worlds of Highland Park was in the form of tasting the brand's 12-year-old whiskey. Since Jens Rosenberg meant well with the guests in the auditorium, most of them were able to take a sip or two with them to the first round of the listening session that followed.
The visitors were seated in two groups in the listening rooms, in which Nils Hölscher and Lutz Jebe von Linn took over the musical program with Daft Punk and Pink Floyd and played almost 50 minutes of music and history from the two bands via the EXAKT or AKURATE systems from Linn presented. Before the two listening groups changed rooms, there was another small refreshment, including a generous portion of the noble 'Highland Park 18 Years' enlivened the spirits. After the second listening round, there was still the rare 15-year-old Highland Park to try, which is long out of print. But the evening was far from over, many guests stayed to discuss what they had heard and drunk with the experts from Highland Park, Linn and the AUDITORIUM.
At least since this successful conclusion it has been clear that we have to repeat this event in a similar form - urgently!
