Our first HIGH END highlight is already certain, because DALI will be there from 15.-18. May an extremely interesting new loudspeaker family can be seen and heard in Munich. The new Rubicon series offers various technologies from the successful Epicon series at a significantly lower price. New series from DALI: The Rubicon models in fine wood veneer An essential technical highlight of all Rubicon models are the 165 mm bass-midrange chassis with their reddish shimmering membranes made of wood fibers and paper. In addition, these chassis, manufactured exclusively by DALI in Denmark, have a modified version of the "Linear Drive" magnet system developed by DALI. The pole core consists of a new type of magnetic powder called SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound). SMC effectively prevents disruptive counter currents in the magnetic gap, thus allowing very precise reproduction free of distortions.
With the exception of the RUBICON 2, all models use hybrid tweeter units for reproducing high frequencies, which consist of an extremely lightweight fabric dome and a ribbon. This proven DALI combination ensures a detailed and airy sound. But the compact 2-way Rubicon 2 box equipped with a fabric dome also fits perfectly into the high-quality sound of the Rubicon family. The RUBICON 5, which is only 89 centimeters high, is designed as a graceful standing speaker. The aforementioned hybrid tweeter is joined by a 165 mm bass-midrange speaker. The RUBICON 6 works one size larger with two woofers and the same tweeter system. The flagship of the series is finally the 22 cm wide and 110 cm high RUBICON 8, in which three cone drivers are used. Each bass-midrange chassis sits in its own bass reflex cabinet.
A particularly versatile addition to the Rubicon family is the RUBICON LCR. This box, which is only 14 cm deep, can be placed on the wall or on a shelf. The LCR is just as recommended for a small hi-fi system as it is for a surround system. The Danish developers have thought of everything, the hybrid tweeter unit of the LCR can be rotated 90 degrees in just a few simple steps if the box is to be used as a center speaker. The RUBICON models, which are optionally available in elegant, semi-gloss walnut or reddish Rosso real wood veneers or white or black high-gloss lacquer, will be available in the AUDITORIUM from June.
