The AUDITORIUM on the go: Audio Physic

Real high-end loudspeakers "Made in Germany" have been produced in tranquil Brilon for more than 25 years, which confidently bridge the gap between technical necessities and appealing design. We had to take a closer look at that! The 'parent company' of Audio Physic in the tranquil town of Brilon We like to say it and we often say it: At AUDITORIUM we only offer products that we ourselves trust unconditionally and that we can recommend without reservation. Of course, this first requires an intensive examination of the respective devices. At least as important to us, however, is direct contact with the manufacturers themselves. For example with Audio Physic, with whom we have maintained a good partnership for years, and certainly not just because of the physical proximity. It's logical that we gladly accepted an invitation to find out more about the latest innovations in Brilon.

Classic loudspeaker construction and innovative technology - no contradiction at Audio Physic The headquarters of Audio Physic and a large part of the production are located here in the Hochsauerland district. Only the production of the successful Classic Line has currently been outsourced, but this condition is found to be quite unsympathetic here - although the distance is barely more than 500 meters as the crow flies. In order to soon enable the Audio-Physic "family" to work together again under one roof, the planning for a generous expansion of the production area in the parent company has just begun. This decision (and above all its justification) fits perfectly into the down-to-earth picture that characterizes the production of Audio Physic as a whole. The cabinets and chassis for the Westphalian loudspeakers are supplied by specialist companies, but the vast majority of production takes place here in Brilon. And mostly in good, old craftsmanship with the known precise and solid results. All turnouts are also fitted on site, and even the final assembly of some chassis takes place here.
It stays in the "family": Crossover assembly at Audio Physic in Brilon And since the name Audio Physic stands for high-quality products, all parts supplied, from the individual crossover components to the prepared housings, are subjected to a rigorous quality control. These are carried out by experienced employees who know exactly what may and may not be used in production. The requirements are extremely high, especially when it comes to the visible surfaces of the housings: What would be processed elsewhere in normal production without any problems may not even be used here for B-goods, but simply goes to recycling as scrap.
Delivered raw housings: This part is subjected to a meticulous quality control. Given this demand on the outside, it is not surprising that great importance is attached to the inner values of each box. Before the individual chassis move into their respective boxes, they are measured electrically and acoustically with great accuracy and low error tolerances. On the basis of these measurements, the transducers for each individual pair of loudspeakers (except Classic Line) are put together perfectly so that they harmonize perfectly acoustically. The differences that are measured here are probably far beyond the resolving power of even a trained ear, but safe is just safe.
Demonstration object: cutaway model of a Cardeas Despite all the appreciation of their tradition, the people of Brilon are by no means shy away from new technologies, on the contrary. They have always enriched loudspeaker construction with numerous technical solutions. The latest innovation can be found in the recently presented new Tempo 25 plus +. A high-strength, open-pored foam made of a ceramic material is used in the housing chamber of the bass driver at the same time as a highly efficient insulating material and to stabilize the housing. The damping of the mid-range chamber has also been revised; changes to the internal cabling and crossovers were primarily aimed at preventing the transmission of the smallest vibrations. All of these seem to be improvements in detail, but all in all they deliver an amazing result. Compared to the 'conventional' Tempo 25, the revised version looks almost like a completely different speaker. Bass control, detail resolution, spatiality - in all relevant aspects you get a very clear "plus +"!
Changed in detail, decisively improved: the inner workings of a Cardeas plus + during final assembly. The realization of our visit to Audio Physic is clear: Damn good speakers are built here in Brilon, without any frills or esotericism, but based on years of experience, solid craftsmanship and continuous technical development.
