World premiere in Hamm: purSonic IV sound system

For years, purSonic soundboards have been our first choice when it comes to integrating loudspeakers into living spaces that is actually invisible. We are all the more pleased that the German manufacturer is presenting its latest development to the public for the first time in our new exhibition in Hamm. The IV sound system combines PurSonics' usual high living space suitability with a previously unattained sound level. On October 25th, not only was the opening of the newly designed sales rooms celebrated in the AUDITORIUM Hamm, but also a real world premiere. As part of the renovation, we implemented the first integration of the new IV sound system together with purSonic.

Hardly anyone would suspect loudspeakers at first glance

Loudspeaker (invisible) visible

With the well-known soundboards that can be installed under the wallpaper or under the plaster, purSonic has revolutionized the market segment of so-called architectural loudspeakers. The absolutely invisible installation of loudspeakers opens up completely new possibilities for integrating high-quality media and entertainment electronics in practically any room - the dream of all interior designers and many customers.

The elements of the IV system are delivered fully assembled and can be used by any experienced drywall builder. The required installation depth is very small. However good the existing products are due to intensive development work and years of experience, this concept cannot be exhausted in terms of sound. In order to be able to offer a solution even to demanding listeners, purSonic developed the IV system. 'IV' stands for 'in- / visible', i.e. the combination of visible and invisible components. Because by far the largest part of the speaker system is still hidden in the wall as a bending wave needle, invisible. As before, the system can be fitted into practically any drywall.

New level

What is new, however, is the classic cone chassis in the upper area for reproducing low frequencies, as well as the Air Motion Transformer, which is used as a tweeter. This tweeter sits in a panel that can be designed to match the wall. So in the end you don't see much more of the sound system than with the conventional purSonic soundboards. And at the latest, if you are still working on additional design elements such as LED light, hardly anyone will recognize the circular decorative panels as part of a loudspeaker.

Perfect measurement

In terms of sound, however, the gain is all the greater, the sound of the IV system has come much closer to that of a floorstanding loudspeaker. Convinced sound purists will still not want to exchange them for it, but what music and film sound comes straight out of the wall with practically no visible technology is amazing. This is made possible, among other things, by the fact that the system is designed to be fully active and can therefore be adapted to the installation situation and the room with great precision. A corresponding measurement is of course, as with every purSonic installation, an indispensable part of the setup.

Part of the installation is a final measurement with which the fully active system is perfectly matched to the room
The measurement is computer-assisted. Since numerous parameters can be adjusted, the whole thing takes some time, but the result is worth the detailed work. See for yourself: the purSonic system is ready for demonstration in the AUDITORIUM Hamm at any time, our team will be happy to advise you!

Look behind the scenes

And here are a few more pictures of the installation:

Assuming precise planning and cabling, the actual installation of the system is child's play
Once the joints have been plastered, you can start designing the wnad
By now, at the latest, you can hardly see anything of the system. Once the painting work has been completed, the dust cap over the cone chassis can be removed
